A Frame.io alternative for small studios.

“The new editor starts Monday. Can they see the Halden project and none of the rest?”

For a small studio, the price question is a question about logins. For two to five people, Frame.io’s Pro plan costs less: $15 a member a month, against DropYourFiles Studio at $59 for three logins and $15 for each one after. From six, Frame.io moves you to Team at $25 a member, and ours costs less. Past price, three things differ: who needs a login, what each person can reach, and whether your photos sit on the same link as the film. We checked Frame.io’s prices on its own page on October 28, 2026.

What a team pays each month.

  • Two people

Frame.io Pro, $30. Solo is one login, so two people means Studio at $59, with a login to spare.

  • Three people

Frame.io Pro, $45, with 2 TB plus 2 TB for each extra member, so 6 TB. Studio, $59, with 2 TB and 50 hours of video.

  • Five people

Frame.io Pro, $75, the most members Pro takes. Studio, $59 plus two logins at $15 each.

  • Ten people

Frame.io Team, $250, with 3 TB plus 2 TB for each extra member. Enterprise, from $149, with ten logins, 6 TB and 150 hours of video.

Frame.io also gives more room at three to five people. If most of your jobs are long films, that may matter more than the price.

Who needs a login.

Count the people on your side who open the studio to upload, answer notes or send links. Each of them is a login. Your client, and anyone your client forwards the link to, needs none.

Give each person what they need.

  1. Open Team access

Choose Team access… from the ⋯ menu of a client, a project or a folder, and add someone by email. Someone new to the studio gets an email to sign in or create an account.

  2. Pick what they can do

Can view lets them watch, download and answer notes. Can edit adds uploading, replacing and renaming. Full access adds sending to your client, links and deleting. Someone given one folder can go up to Can edit, not Full access, because a link they sent would open the whole project.

  3. They see what you shared

Once you share one client with someone, that’s what they see. The rest of the studio stays out of their lists, and billing and your team stay with you.

The Team access sheet for a folder called Selects: a field to add someone by email, the choices Can view and Can edit with what each allows, and below, an editor on the team who sees the whole studio, with a button to narrow that to this folder.
Team access on one folder: add someone by email and choose Can view or Can edit. A sample studio with invented names.

Photos and film on the same link.

If the studio shoots stills as well as film, the photos sit beside the film on one page. Notes on the film and pins on the photos come back together, to whoever runs the job. When your client approves, the full-size files open for download on that link, so nobody on the team has to send the finals separately. Client approval software explains how that step works.

Questions.

How much does Frame.io cost for a small team?

Pro is $15 a member a month for up to 5 members, and Team is $25 a member for up to 15. Paying yearly saves 13%.

Can I give a freelancer access to one project?

Yes. Choose Team access… on that project, or on one folder of it, and pick Can view or Can edit. They see that and nothing else in your studio.

Do my clients count as seats?

No. Seats are for your side. A client never needs a login.

Can I add more logins to Studio?

Yes, $15 a month each, on Studio and Enterprise.
