How to share a password protected video with a client.
“Legal says the launch film can’t leave the building before the 14th.” And you were about to text the link.
Most client work doesn’t need a lock. An unreleased launch does, and so does anything under an NDA, or with someone in it who hasn’t signed off on being there.

Setting the password.
Open the project’s Settings
Under Your link, find Password and choose Set.
Pick a password
Six characters or more. Anyone already looking at the page has to enter it from now on.
Send it separately
Text the password, email the link. Someone who finds one shouldn’t have both.
Your client sees “This gallery is protected” and a box for the password. After five wrong tries in an hour, your client has to wait longer between tries.
Or let the link close by itself.
Next to the password is Link expires: never, or 7, 14, 30 or 90 days from now. When it closes, your client sees that the link has expired and that your studio can send a new one. The project itself stays put. You can set a default for every new project in your account.

A link for each person.
Under Who has it, Give someone their own link makes a separate link for one person, with its own count of opens, and you can close it without touching anyone else’s. A personal link copies the project link’s settings and expiry, but not its password.
Questions.
Can I password protect a video I send to a client?
Yes. Set a password on the project’s link in Settings. Your client enters it once to open the page.
Can a client link expire?
Yes. Choose 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, or never. When it closes, the project stays, and you can send a new link.
What if my client forgets the password?
Send it again, or change it in Settings. Anyone already inside has to enter the new one.
How long do download links last?
Twelve hours from the click. After that your client clicks Download again.
