Revision rounds
How many revision rounds for a video?
“One more small change.” It’s round five, and the quote said two.
There’s no standard number. What matters is that the number is in writing before the first cut, and that your client can see which round you’re on.

What your client does on the link.
Your client watches
Your client opens the link on a phone or a computer and watches the film, with the photos right beside it. No account, no app to install.
Your client points at what to change
Your client pauses and types, and the note sticks to that second of the film. On a photo or a PDF page, your client taps the exact spot, and can draw on it.
Your client approves
When it’s right, your client presses Approve and confirms once. The watermark comes off. On a job with photos and film, your client can approve each one separately.
Your client downloads the finals
The full-size files open for download on the same link, one by one or all at once. You don’t send anything new.
Pick a number that fits the job.
Say the number in the quote. A short social cut may need one round. A brand film with several people signing off may need more. Whatever you pick, say what happens after it: a price per extra round, or a day rate.
Say what counts as a round.
One round is one set of notes on one cut, sent together. Ask your client to gather notes from everyone who needs a say before you start the changes, so one person’s note doesn’t undo another’s halfway through.
Wording you can paste into a quote.
“This quote includes [two] rounds of changes. A round is one set of notes on one cut, sent together. Further rounds, or changes to the brief, are billed at [your rate] or quoted separately.”
Change the numbers to fit you. It’s a starting point, not legal advice.
Make the rounds visible.
On DropYourFiles each new cut goes up over the last one on the same link, and your client’s film shows which round it is with the earlier ones a tap away. When round three comes, nobody has to guess.
Questions.
How many revisions should a video include?
There’s no standard. Pick a number that fits the job, write it in the quote, and say what counts as a round.
What counts as a revision round?
One set of notes on one cut, sent together. Notes that arrive after you’ve started the changes belong to the next round.
How do I charge for extra revisions?
Say it before you start: a price per extra round, or a day rate. Then point to that line when the extra round begins.
Can my client see the earlier versions?
Yes. When you upload a new cut over the last one, your client can open the earlier rounds from the film.
